Privacy Policy
Last Updated: January 1, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Chainfolio (chain-folio.com) handles your information. The short answer: we don’t collect any of it.
1. Our Core Privacy Principle
Chainfolio is architected from the ground up to be privacy-sovereign. It is technically impossible for Chainfolio to observe your usage, because the application runs entirely in your browser with no server-side component.
- No accounts. No sign-up. No email. No KYC.
- No analytics trackers (no Google Analytics, no Mixpanel, no Amplitude, no Segment).
- No crash reporters (no Sentry, no Datadog).
- No advertising networks. No ad cookies. No tracking pixels.
- No server ever receives your portfolio data, wallet addresses, or settings.
2. Data You Store Locally
When you use Chainfolio, the following data is stored exclusively in your browser’s IndexedDB and localStorage:
- Wallet addresses (public keys only — never private keys)
- Transaction history fetched from your RPC provider
- Portfolio snapshots and net worth timeseries
- DeFi position data
- Your RPC endpoint URL and API keys (stored locally, never transmitted to Chainfolio)
- Application settings and preferences
Chainfolio has no access to this data. It never leaves your device.
3. What Chainfolio Does NOT Collect
We do not collect, store, or process:
- Your name, email address, or any personally identifiable information
- Your IP address
- Browser type, operating system, or device information
- Geographic location
- Usage patterns, session duration, or click data
- Your wallet addresses or portfolio data
- Your API keys or RPC endpoints
4. Third-Party Data Sources (Outbound Requests from Your Browser)
To display portfolio data, your browser directly fetches data from the following third-party services. These requests originate from your browser, not from any Chainfolio server:
- Your RPC Provider (Alchemy, Helius, Ankr, etc.) — to fetch wallet balances and transactions. Subject to your provider’s privacy policy.
- DexScreener (
api.dexscreener.com) — for token prices and liquidity data. No API key required. - DeFiLlama (
api.llama.fi) — for DeFi protocol TVL and risk scores. No API key required.
We recommend reviewing the privacy policies of these services to understand how they handle request data (such as IP addresses).
5. Contact Form
If you reach out via the Contact page, you voluntarily provide your name and email address. This information is used solely to respond to your inquiry and is not stored in any database or shared with third parties.
6. Cookies
Chainfolio does not set any cookies for analytics, advertising, or tracking purposes. Your browser may store session data (such as the application state) as a standard function of the web platform, which is fully under your control.
7. Children’s Privacy
Chainfolio is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.
8. Data Portability and Deletion
Because all your data is stored locally in your browser:
- Export: Chainfolio provides a data export function. You can export your complete dataset at any time.
- Deletion: To delete all Chainfolio data, clear your browser’s site data for
chain-folio.comin your browser settings. This is permanent and cannot be undone by Chainfolio.
Chainfolio has no copies of your data to “delete on request” — we never had it.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect product changes or regulatory requirements. Changes will be posted here with an updated “Last Updated” date. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
