Is Chainfolio free to use?

Yes, Chainfolio is completely free. It is a browser-native application — no subscription, no freemium tier, and no account required. Simply open the app and start tracking.

Do I need to create an account?

No. Chainfolio has no concept of 'users'. There is no account creation, no email collection, and no KYC. The app runs entirely in your browser with no server-side authentication.

Where is my data stored?

All your data — wallets, transactions, snapshots, and settings — is stored exclusively in your browser's IndexedDB and localStorage. No server ever receives your data. Clearing your browser data permanently deletes it.

What blockchains does Chainfolio support?

Chainfolio currently has full support for Solana, including native SOL, SPL tokens, staking positions (native + Marinade mSOL), and full transaction history. Ethereum and Polkadot adapters are scaffolded for future expansion.

Do I need to connect my wallet?

No. Chainfolio supports watch-only mode — paste any public wallet address to track balances and transactions without any wallet connection. You can also connect via 31 supported browser wallet adapters (Phantom, Solflare, Ledger, and more).

What wallet adapters are supported?

Chainfolio supports 31 Solana wallet adapters including Phantom, Solflare, Coinbase Wallet, Ledger, Trust Wallet, Trezor, MathWallet, Coin98, Nightly, Particle, SafePal, and 20 more. The app only reads the public key — it never accesses private keys.

Do I need API keys or RPC endpoints?

Chainfolio ships with no hardcoded API keys. You provide your own Solana RPC endpoint (Alchemy, Ankr, Helius, GetBlock, Chainstack, or any custom endpoint) via the onboarding wizard. DexScreener and DeFiLlama are used without API keys.

Does Chainfolio track my analytics or usage?

Absolutely not. Chainfolio has zero telemetry — no Google Analytics, no Mixpanel, no Amplitude, no crash reporters, no cookies sent to third parties. It is architecturally impossible for Chainfolio to observe your usage.

Welcome to Chainfolio (chain-folio.com). By accessing or using the Chainfolio web application, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using Chainfolio, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, you must discontinue use of the application immediately.

2. Description of Service

Chainfolio is a browser-native, local-first portfolio analytics dashboard for on-chain assets. The application runs entirely within your web browser. No accounts are required, no personal data is collected by Chainfolio, and no data is transmitted to any Chainfolio server — because there is no server.

Key characteristics of the Service:

All user data (wallets, transactions, snapshots, settings) is stored exclusively in your browser’s IndexedDB and localStorage.
Chainfolio has zero telemetry — no analytics, no tracking, no cookies sent to third parties.
You bring your own API keys and RPC endpoints (BYOK). Chainfolio ships with no hardcoded credentials.
The Service is provided free of charge, with no subscription, no freemium tier, and no paywall.

3. No Account Required

Chainfolio has no concept of “users.” There is no account creation, no email collection, no KYC (Know Your Customer), and no server-side authentication. You are not required to identify yourself in any way.

4. Your Data Responsibility

Because all data is stored locally in your browser:

You are solely responsible for backing up your data. Clearing your browser storage, uninstalling your browser, or using a different device will result in permanent data loss.
Chainfolio provides an export function for your data. It is your responsibility to use it.
Chainfolio cannot recover lost data on your behalf.

5. Third-Party Services and API Keys

To fetch on-chain data, Chainfolio requires you to provide your own RPC endpoint (e.g., Alchemy, Helius, Ankr, GetBlock, Chainstack). Chainfolio also fetches publicly available price and DeFi data from DexScreener and DeFiLlama without API keys.

You are responsible for compliance with the terms of any third-party API provider you use.
Chainfolio does not store, log, or transmit your API keys or RPC endpoint URLs to any external server. They are stored solely in your browser’s localStorage.

6. Not Financial Advice

Nothing in Chainfolio constitutes financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. All portfolio data, valuations, DeFi metrics, and analytics displayed are for informational purposes only. Cryptocurrency markets are highly volatile. Past performance is not indicative of future results.

You should consult a qualified financial advisor before making any investment decisions. Chainfolio accepts no liability for financial losses incurred based on data or analytics displayed within the application.

7. Intellectual Property

All source code, design, and branding of Chainfolio are the intellectual property of Sergio Terrazas. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works of Chainfolio’s interface, branding, or source code without explicit written permission, except as permitted by the applicable open-source license if one is designated.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

Chainfolio does not warrant that:

The Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
On-chain data fetched from third-party sources is accurate, complete, or up to date.
The Service will be compatible with all browsers or devices.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Chainfolio and its creator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, financial losses, or loss of profits, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.

10. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective upon posting to this page with an updated “Last Updated” date. Your continued use of Chainfolio after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
